The Old town

Orxeta is a town located on the right bank of the River Sella, halfway between the orchard and dry in a beautiful valley surrounded by gently sloping hills, open to the South on the reservoir Amadori far the town, with a area of about 25 km2 and an altitude of 177 m. above sea level, bounded by the towns of Sella, Finestrat, Villajoyosa, El Campello, and Busot Relleu.

Its surface is more than half the remaining unproductive and rainfed farming, except a small part about 90-Ha-gardening, but with a natural environment and cultural heritage a privileged, well connected and close to the coast and the nuclei population where tourism (Benidorm, Villajoyosa, Altea ...).

The Old Orxeta at present can claim to preserve a very rich traditional architecture of the interior Mediterranean, with a type which is linked to the medieval house between party and is very characteristic with colorful covering their walls.

The urban layout of Orxeta is converging around the Plaza del Doctor Vicente Lino Ferrándiz, excellent recreational area for all the neighbors, and where we find some of the most emblematic buildings of the municipality, such as the Church of Saint James The Town Hall or the old Palace of the Commander of the Order of Santiago.
