Ethnographic Heritage

Ethnographic Heritage.

Patrimonio etnográfico.

 

According to the Spanish Historical Heritage Law 16/1985, ethnographic heritage is stated as being: "Any movable or immovable property and knowledge and activities that are or have been a relevant expression of the traditional culture of the Spanish nation in all its material, social or spiritual aspects". Or in the case of Orxeta the traditional culture of the Valencian Region.

Included in this section are:

· Movable Heritage: These are objects that constitute the expression or the product of labour, aesthetic and pleasure activities of any human group that are established and transmitted by custom.

· Immovable Heritage: Any buildings and installations which are expressions of knowledge acquired, established and transmitted by c ustom and whose creation belongs to a type or form of architecture traditionally used by human groups.

· Living Heritage / Intangible Heritage: Any knowledge or activities derived from traditional models or techniques used by a specific community.
